Blue Aloha is within hours...hurray! I can't wait to hear your voices. My guess is that you'll soon be welcomed by those famous Kauai Spinner Dolphins as they playfully pilot Solis into the Harbor.

Oh, boy! Celebratory cheeseburgers at Hazel's, coming up. I'm hoping we've heard that you've docked in time to munch in your honor by 6:30 Wednesday evening. If not, then Thursday. Wish we could make it for Bargeburgers in Berkeley, but it will probably be when we're in Hawai'i for grandson Soane's high school graduation (Jenifer's oldest).

Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful adventure with us all.

this has been a wonderful voyage, you have had me glued to your reports...and I want more! It's not finished until you dock in Ca, so yes, I'm waiting for the next leg.
Have a great time in Hawaii, best wishes to Ron and his health.
Hope you find a third sailor, rumor is that there is a list, do you have qualifications requirements?
Love to all of you

At last! What a wonderful feeling it will be when you actually site the island (just like in the movies, right? - will someone shout 'land ahoy!'???)
Congratulations on your journey.
I'll be curious to hear about the next leg - will you expect much of the same variable conditions, temperatures, etc... travelling from Hawaii to California?

Great job guys, enjoy some well deserved R & R. Looking forward to the pics. I have greatly enjoyed your adventure so far, the time in the doldrums allowed all to heal and you to relate to the ocean. Hay, make sure to pack some canned tuna for the next leg of your journey.

A perfect blossom is a rare thing. You could spend your life looking for one. And it would not be a wasted life.

Aloha to my weary boys! Luke called last night, needless to say it was so good to hear his voice which sounded great. They were moving along at a good clip and should be in Hawaii sometime today. He will forever more be changed as a result of this time with his dad and brother. The difficulty of the journey and the constant worry about his dad have all been a part of a big learning curve which he has passed with flying colors.

I've got to say how proud of my sons I am. As most of you know Darshaun and Luke's brother Justin, just recently returned from 15 months in Iraq. Not home 3 months and these guys take off on this adventure, Justin would of if he could of and sends his thoughts and love daily. Darshaun's abiity to navigate Solis under such difficult circumstances has been astounding. I deeply admire all of their strength of charecter and that they are willing and able to meet life's challenges.
On that note I want to say a big huge thanks to Taj. I was originally slated to do the blog post each day as they came in. During the first week of the trip I was in Colorado with very limited internet service so Taj took over and has maintained it ever since. Everytime those messages came through she had them on the blog within minutes of their arrival, brilliant job my girl. I have been honored to share this amazing trip with so many of my friends and family it would be difficult to explain all the moments without this connection otherwise.
Gene, your comic relief mixed with some great cultural literacy have been fantastic, I'm still laughing over a few. So much love to you and the boys.
Congratulations to poopy/bionic who predicted the 7th of May, looks looks you are right on. When I told mentioned all the fun we had had about hamburgers, Luke said do not even talk about food. Translation being they can't wait for those burgers.
I encourage all who have or have not to take a moment and share a thought.
I hope the blog lives On!

As Darshaun use to say, "I'm upsided!"
Anyone having a hamburger to celebrate?
I'm guessing/hoping the next contact will be from the island of Kauai. Could be very soon.......

Land ahoy, mate! This has been one wild ride. So glad you guys are finally reaching land. Sending lots of healing wishes to Ron and kudos to both Darshaun and Luke for all the hard work done. I'll have a cheesburger at Little River Inn for ya.
